BEFORE THE SHOOT: DOES AND DON’TS

DOs

  1. Get a GOOD night’s sleep
No amount of my retouching skills can eliminate the exhaustion present in your eyes and spirit. I would say this is the most important item on the “Do” list. You’re going to need all your energy and vitality to be coached and have fun while emitting sensuality.

  2. Moisturize
Whether being photographed completely in the buff or to some degree otherwise, supple skin is a must and appears gorgeous on camera.

  3. Bring multiple wardrobe options
Many times clients and I have talked about outfits that would work but ended up not. It may have not fit, perhaps it wasn’t flattering, could have used some TLC, or it just didn’t work with the styling or location it was being shot at. We need to have options.
I suggest 5 or more to be on the safe side and don’t hesitate to bring accessories.

  4. Get a manicure and pedicure shortly beforehand
This is a very helpful tip.
Consider these as the fine details of the photograph. Even though nails are very small they do show up so it’s just best to have hands and feet well groomed and polished. Chipped polish, broken nails, or ragged cuticles will detract from your shoot, and it’s an expense pain to get it retouched. Just think, the least amount of Photoshop I have means the quicker you get your photos back.

  5. Come early
My goal is to have you feel as comfortable as possible and a great way to start our session is to show up early and relax. This is a great strategy and benefits you.

  6. Bring your own music
Whether you like to vibe out and dance or just meditate to music and it makes you feel comfortable and gets you in the mood, bring it. I always have a Bluetooth speaker available

  7. Show up to have fun!

  8. Leave the rest to me once you’re on set
Don’t worry about trying to take a great photograph. That’s what I’m here for. You just show up and let me do the work and you just have fun!

DON’TS

  1. No new haircuts right before the shoot

  2. No fake tans immediately before the shoot
I’ve had good and BAD experiences with fake tanning but the best route to go is natural. If this is a must for you then please schedule a session four or five days prior to the shoot.

  3. No Botox or collagen injections a week or two before the shoot
Sometimes there can be injection mishaps and doing these procedures a week or two before the shoot should smooth out any irregularities.

  4. No negative self-talk allowed once on set
This is a “love your body” only zone so no Negative self-talk allowed. In my experience it only brings the shoot down so keeping the positivity up makes the mood stay up.
