The Ritchies
It’s that time of the year when the leaves around us start changing into their brilliant colors and letting us know a different season is coming. It’s also a time when I know I’ll start doing far less photo shoots outdoors for families which is really depressing because photographing outdoors is my favorite by far since I don’t have to use too much equipment and the sun always, in my opinion, produces the best light over artificial strobe light any day.
Since I don’t have control over the seasons I try and make the best out of what nature gives, and this year not only did I feel I made the best out of what nature had to offer, I did it while photographing a family I’m very fond of.
The Ritchie Family
I’ve known the Ritchie family since, well; for a long time. I’ve known Greg Ritchie since we were little guys running around the junior high football field and MC Hammer was a big hit on the music charts. When Greg met Melissa in collage, they were meant to be, and I knew this because Greg wouldn’t have driven from Los Angeles to Sacramento almost every weekend to hang out with just anyone.
I’ve watched their children Joslyn and Jadon grow to have wonderful energetic personalities and I definitely look forward to seeing what bright future they have in store.

Although my time photographing families outdoors might be coming to an end until next summer, this fall will always will always be special to me. The Ritchies are more than just a family I enjoyed photographing, they are an extension of my own family that I had the honor of photographing and I couldn’t have asked for a better season, better weather, or a more perfect family.
I can’t say thank you enough.
